Do you have a first-person story to tell?
We encourage you to outline the story you have in mind and consider what upcoming show themes it may fit into, then attend a scheduled workshop to hone your storytelling skills. The True Tales crew will help you develop your piece into a compelling 10-minute story.
Every month that we do a show we also offer a storytelling workshop. These generally fall on the first Tuesday of the month. Workshops are open to all and are held at PPMTV. While workshopping a story is not a requirement for telling one, we strongly encourage it. The workshops are fun. Seasoned tellers and newbies alike learn from each other and enjoy being part of developing stories.
Sometimes tellers will workshop a story several times before telling it – to get perspectives about different story elements. At the same time workshopping a story does not pre-commit you to telling a story. Workshops are a great way to try out a story. Here are the 2019 workshop dates.
January. 8 (second Tuesday), February 5, March 5, April 2, May 7, June 4…September 3, October 1, and November 5. Each workshop runs from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. Pre-registration is appreciated, not required.
