John Lovering: Founder Emeritus- John is a founding member of True Tales Live. He is a lifelong resident of New Hampshire, now in Dover with his wife of 50 years, Melanie. He is a retired high school biology and media production teacher with 35 years in the profession. John’s hobbies include video and audio editing and the restoration of old tube radios from the 1930’s through the late 50’s. For 13 years he volunteered at Portsmouth Community Radio as the creator and host of Audio Theater as well as being the audio engineer for the program “Don’t Dis’ My Ability.” In January of 2014 he produced the original radio version of this program True Tales Live. Currently both “Don’t Dis’ My Ability” and “True Tales Live” are produced and seen on PPMtv. John also hosts a new version of Audio Theatre called “Heirloom Radio” which has over 251000 listeners and is heard as a podcast at https://soundcloud.com/user-693593010 and wherever you listen to podcasts. Currently he also is the video editor for both True Tales Live and Don’t Dis’ My Ability on PPMtv.
Amy Antonucci: Announcer; True Tales Live Board President. Amy is a founding member of True Tales Live and the TTL storyteller coaching program. She is also involved in agriculture, the arts, and activism. Amy is co-owner of Living Land Permaculture Homestead in Barrington, NH, where she tends plants, animals, and insects. She helps organize The Seacoast Permaculture Group, teaches Sacred Circle Dance and Frame Drumming, and believes in the power of people and stories to transform our world.
Pat Spalding: Host-Emcee; True Tales Live Board. Pat, a founding member of True Tales Live who lives in Harrisville, NH is a monologist / majorette. She spins tales around New England and twirls a baton with the Leftist Marching Band (although not simultaneously.) Pat has written and performed several one-woman shows including: We Stayed Together For the Puppets, A Bomb In the Closet, and Dancing With Dad. Steve Kowal: True Tales Live Archive Photographer. Steve is a resident of Kittery. He has been with True Tales Live since its beginning in 2014 and has provided us with hundreds of excellent photos for our archives. Steve also spent several years videotaping live music performances of Shawn Henderson’s “Stay Tuned” program on Portsmouth Community Radio. The videos are available on YouTube. Steve’s hobbies include gardening, playing the bass guitar, piano, and swimming in Chauncey Creek. Steve also volunteers for The Music Hall, The Kittery Dance Hall, and for 25 years, advised high school youth groups.
David Phreaner: Interviewer; True Tales Live Board Member. David is the newest member of True Tales Live, where he serves as Production Assistant. A retired Unitarian Universalist minister, David with his wife, acupuncturist Lisa Rothermich, founded Gentle Currents Wellness Center in Greenland, NH. In addition to storytelling, David also has a passion for poetry. He has served as Co-Chair of the Portsmouth Poet Laureate Program Board and emcee of the Portsmouth Poetry Hoot. David believes that first-person storytelling has the power to create connections among individuals and to build and sustain compassionate communities.

Stephanie Voss Nugent: True Tales Live Board Member. Stephanie is the founding Executive Director of Artist’s Collaborative Theatre Of New England (ACT ONE), which has been presenting theatre productions, concerts, and original works by local artists in NH, ME, and MA since 1998. She is a professional actor, producer, and director, receiving her training at the University of Texas at Austin, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, and as a member of the professional company at Theatre By The Sea in Portsmouth, NH. Since 1981 Stephanie has toured the region with a series of programs about Celia Thaxter and the Isles of Shoals, designed for presentation in theatres as well as schools, libraries, historical societies, church fellowships, and other gatherings.
